Brenton J. Elliott

Mr. Elliott has broad experience in the practice of law in Connecticut. He has represented clients in such diverse areas as environmental litigation, securities, employment, commercial financing, bankruptcy, personal injury, probate, and real estate. He has been involved in many important cases, including representing plaintiffs in several matters involving property contamination, representing a securities firm in an employment dispute with several former executives, defending an LLC member against a multi-million dollar breach of fiduciary duty and conversion claim, representing a plaintiff investor against a major financial advisory firm in connection with a failed tender offer and subsequent proxy contest, and representing the plaintiff in a highly contentious and complex lawsuit over ownership of real estate.


Mr. Elliott has also practiced widely in the field of transactional law, helping clients to form or dissolve various business entities, acquire and divest commercial and residential real estate, and close on personal and business financing. Important transactions he has participated in have included representing a mid-size national advertising agency in a stock buyback program, representing a major private equity firm in a tender offer and subsequent proxy fight over the acquisition of a competitor, and representing a growing athletic company in expanding its franchise operations into Connecticut.


Mr. Elliott has participated in matters in front of Federal and State Courts in both New York and Connecticut, in addition to the Financial Industry Regulatory Association (FINRA), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

Mr. Elliott is a graduate of the University of LaVerne College of Law, and Chapman University.
